Danielle Watt, Ph.D
STEM EDUCATION LEAD
Dr. Danielle Watt is an advocate for diversity and inclusion in STEMM. She earned a Ph.D. in biological organic chemistry from the University of Connecticut, focusing on environmental chemicals' effects on DNA and lung cancer mutations. After completing her Ph.D., she held a postdoctoral fellowship at NIH, specializing in DNA replication and repair, and conducted research in Sweden. Passionate about developing early career scientists and increasing minority representation in STEMM, she transitioned to higher education administration, managing research training programs and K-12 outreach initiatives. Her contributions to science education have been recognized nationally, earning her the NOBCChE Dr. Henry McBay Outstanding Educator Award and the NIH Merit Award. Dr. Watt is a respected leader in promoting diversity in the scientific community.
